The Real History Of Twitter

How Twitter’s owners and top executives say Twitter was founded is different than how Twitter was actually founded.

Mainly, the official version leaves out the role of a major cofounder. Some early Twitter investors also wonder if it also leaves out a scandal.

Worst case of Copyright infringement?

My 2005 Ice Dragon entry, called “A Tale of Two Tarts” was apparently printed without my knowledge or permission in a magazine and I am apparently the victim of copyright infringement.

Read the article about how Cooks Source Magazine not only stole an article but what their response was.  Shocking…

Codepad

Codepad is an online compiler/interpreter, and a simple collaboration tool

Not too sure why you would use this as it seems a little dangerous (your code is stored on their server).  Enlighten me, why would I need this?

Put your shipping out to bid with uShip

Looking to ship something big and expensive?  How about shipping something a great distance?  If you want to locate the cheapest solution then give uShip a try.  You basically, for free, put your item out for bid.  Shippers respond with a shipping cost and you select the best one (make sure to read their ratings).

This is a great way to say 10%-50% on shipping costs.

Sorry, but MapQuest just didn’t react fast enough to the awesome mapping provided by Google.  For me its too little, too late.  When I hear MapQuest it reminds me of the days on AOL.

Thoughts?  Do you use Google Maps?  Would you go back to MapQuest?

Free Web Services & Tools To Monitor Website Downtime

Let’s face it, you cannot be monitoring your website 24-7 but still for webmasters who are generating revenue from their websites, you need to be there as soon as possible to fix things up when there’s a downtime, or else you’ll potentially suffer a revenue lost. For those who are not making money from their website, there’s still a hit on reputation if the site has gone down for hours (or days) and the owner wasn’t aware. You could lose visitors, or worst, loyal followers.

What is Posterous?

Posterous is the dead simple way to put anything online using email. We launched in July 2008 and we’ve been steadily growing and adding features.

We love sharing thoughts, photos, audio, and files with our friends and family, but we didn’t like how hard it was… so we made a better way.

Even after reading and looking around the site I’m still unclear exactly what its niche is.

QuitFacebookDay.com = yawn

A new website is attempting to get ‘the masses’ rallied to quit Facebook.  QuitFacebookDay.com already has 24865 (at the time of this post)  members pledging to quit.  Wow.  That’s like .005% of Facebook’s user base.  That’ll tell em.

I have no intention of quitting.  Are you going to quit?  Leave a comment on your thoughts about Facebook.
