NSLookup

If you’ve ever used NSLookup from the command-line in Windows you’ll surely understand how much data it is capable of putting at your fingertips. I know some people prefer to take the command-line route (as I normally do), but it can also be nice to have a GUI alternative for those that don’t use it enough to remember the parameters and syntax. The free DNSDataView is the perfect GUI companion to NSLookup.

Starbucks Finally will offer free WiFi

Starting July 1, Starbucks will let anyone connect to its WiFi network for free. This fall, the company will add a content network called Starbucks Digital Network, in partnership with Yahoo and other sites, which will include local content you won’t be able to read anywhere else. Both offerings will be free.

Took them long enough.

Free Web Services & Tools To Monitor Website Downtime

Let’s face it, you cannot be monitoring your website 24-7 but still for webmasters who are generating revenue from their websites, you need to be there as soon as possible to fix things up when there’s a downtime, or else you’ll potentially suffer a revenue lost. For those who are not making money from their website, there’s still a hit on reputation if the site has gone down for hours (or days) and the owner wasn’t aware. You could lose visitors, or worst, loyal followers.

Windows Debugger, Disassembler, Code Analyzers

The three PEBrowse programs share large amounts of code, but perform distinct activities. PEBrowse Professional, the static analyzer and eldest, allows you to examine any Windows Portable Executable file (including system drivers) offline and not in the middle of some debugging session. That domain is reserved for the PEBrowse Professional Interactive debugger, which contains most (but not all) of features found in the PeBrowse Professional disassembler but brings powerful additions to the analysis and debugging of an active program. The latest addition to the PEBrowse family, PEBrowse Crash-Dump Analyzer, in many ways acts and feels like the debugger, but instead of a live target examines information collected in a mini-dump or crash-dump file from a dead process.

Veign Giveaway: 1 free license of Expression Web 3

Give away is now closed – the winner has been selected (Jeff)

Whether you’re an expert or just getting started, building standards-based Web sites is faster and easier with Microsoft® Expression® Web 3. Expression Web contains flexible support for a wide range of essential technologies: PHP, HTML/XHTML, XML/XSLT, CSS, JavaScript, ASP.NET and ASP.NET AJAX, Silverlight, Flash, Photoshop files, and video/audio for webcasting.

This is a great opportunity to get a free license for an up-coming-player in the web design application market. EW is hot the heals of Dreamweaver and is already converting many users. I have been using and testing EW since the first releases and each one moves it closer to a serious player in the web design game – still needs better support for PHP for my liking but I’m sure that’s coming.

Just download the trial to check it out.

To enter leave a comment that either contains your email address or a link to your profile which contains your email address and say something that lets me know you want it. Thats it. Winner will be choosen at random in 24 hours.

Easy online image cropping application at Quick Thumbnail

I recently expanded the functionality of Quick Thumbnail to include a Quick Image Cropping tool. This tool lets you crop an image by uploading a file or by entering a URL to the image file. Once uploaded, Quick Cropping allows you to select the cropped area and each time you press the Crop button a new output is generated. No need to reload the image, simply adjust the selection area and press crop again.

MakeItOne combines multiple MP3's into one

MakeItOne is a great little utility for combining multiple MP3′s into a single MP3. I did this recently for a comedy CD I had that was in separate tracks. Used MakeItOne to combine into a single Mp3 and in few minutes it was done. This is a nice little tool to have in your Audio application tool list.
