HOWTO: View answers on Experts Exchange

If you have ever done a search for a technical issue then you may have come across Experts Exchange and noticed that the answers are all masked. The only way to see the answers was to signup for an account to have the answer unlocked.

There is a way to see the answers that works pretty well. I should note that this is for reference only and should not be used to bypass their signups.

Steps

1. Download and install the Google Toolbar
2. Ensure the Page Rank and Page Info button is on the toolbar (located under More Buttons on the Option Dialog)
3. Navigate to the Experts Exchange page you want to view
4. With the page loaded click the down arrow next to PageRank button the Google Toolbar and select Cached Snapshot of Page

That's it. The cached snapshot displays the unmasked answers. Why? Because it would appear, in my opinion, that Experts Exchange breaks the guidelines of Google by serving a different page to the GoogleBot (Google's crawler) then it does to its website users. GoogleBot receives pages with unmasked answers so they can be indexed.
