Hold your breath! Oh wait, don't hold your breath. I'll keep a Windows machine for sure, but right now I'm bogged down with reading. Lots and lots of reading on how to do the simple things in GNU/Linux.
I'm switching between Ubuntu and Fedora 7 mainly, but I have been pleasantly surprised to find that once I do something (install fonts, apps, burn a DVD, etc.), it's a lot easier than I thought it would be. Still, the biggest change is that "it's different." Despite my best efforts and two days of trying, I couldn't get the fonts the way I wanted them in Ubuntu. Bad fonting is a big turnoff since most of us spend the majority of our computing time either reading or writing! Yet, the fonts in Fedora 7 were as clear as those in Vista.
Either way, I hope to reduce my dependence on Microsoft. I just can't abide another Vista-like EULA, ha!!

Good luck.
I just don't have the time to even think about switching...
