Ethereal has been superseded by Wireshark. This is a continuation of the same program by the same author, but due to trademark disputes with his former employer, he had to rename the application and continue development elsewhere. Given that Ethereal development has ceased and there are a number of vulnerabilities in the last version(s), I strongly recommend switching over to the latest version of Wireshark instead. You can download it from here:
