New Device Zaps Migraines

New Device Zaps Migraines on Yahoo! News: "A magnetic pulse technique originally developed to treat psychological disorders like depression has been modified to zap away migraines before they can fully form."

I suffer from migraines and the pain can be so bad at times its hard to describe to someone who has never had one. Its just not like a normal headache. For me there is nothing that can help once one starts and I just try to get to sleep as soon as possible by taking Melatonin and Nyquil.

  • Migraines have plagued me throughout my life and I've never found anything that works. Sleeping knocks me out, but if I'm not sleepy and still go to bed, I awake to the same headache. Mine usually last anywhere from 12-30 hours, crippling me and my work. But I haven't tried Melatonin and Nyquil. Not a bad idea just to tranquilize and be done with it.

  • I can sometimes hold one from starting with coffee or chocolate - caffine. But once one has started there is no stopping it.

Melotonin is the bodies natural sleep agent - tells everything its time to sleep. So, taking it starts to shut down the body and then hitting it with Nyquil just knocks me out.
