I want a Freeware Utility to ... 300+ common problems solved: "Extremely useful free utilities that do specific jobs really well and save time and money."

Very interesting way to present a freeware software list.

(I know I said I would never post another freeware list but my blog, my rules, and this deserves a post)

  • I saw this list, too, and like all lists, it made me wonder what he was thinking with some of the picks. (I'm sure people say the same thing about mine!) Still, he conflates Open Source with Freeware, which are two different worlds.

Still, it's an attractive layout that gets right to the point. But where the hell is XSite and Seeker, damnit! (I'm serious.)

  • I didn't take the time to really look through the list but I really liked his format. Its a very smart way to present the software to a user.

I think the format is a very interesting idea and can be expanded upon. I often use software for a single purpose and not use all the features (since other applications may do it better).

What's needed is a a good, solid, database with a cross-referenced list of "How Do I's" to applications. Basically one 'How Do I' points to a single application and a single application can be listed to several 'How Do I's".

Seeker isn't on your Great Software List yet, is it? Also, some asked for a mini-review of Seeker on DonationCoder - check that out too..
