Evrsoft's 1st Page 2006 is NOT free
Evrsoft's 1st Page 2006 is NOT free. That ends the evaluation for me. Oh well, onto other things.
(should be noted that I am not against them selling it, its just they stated it would be free and released a final version (release candidate) stating it will be free, and now they pull the rug out)

Where do you see that it's not free? I only noticed that the name "First Page 2006 Free" was changed to "First Page 2006". But I can't find a price or something?

Most, not all freeware have some kind of gadgets that try to get you to upgrade but I am satisfied with a few nags since most of the paid version of the same aren't as good or are still wanting you to upgrade to the end of time to something.I guess it's a market thing but some take it too far. Evrsoft is a great site builder and hard to knock a few nags. It's a nag's world, just go to the mailbox.

The problem I have with Evrsoft is the way they went about things. I felt it was kinda of underhanded to release Pre-Release versions (Beta, Release Candidate's) stating a free version. Also, in the forums the developer stated it would be free.
What this does is get people on board to help beta test a product and remove bugs thinking they are helping what will be a free application.
Then once the beta has been completed they change their minds and sell the application. This is wrong. Beta testers can put hours into testing an application and need to know its pricing structure from the start - you will get more to help when an application is free.
Again, to summarize, I am not against nag screens or paying for an application and think developers should be supported in some way by the users (look at my applications) but feel the way they went about it was wrong.

1stpage2000 was good for a very short while till they added the crap javascripts. But it was clunky.
Use NVU.. http://www.nvu.com/ thats free and way better, almost as good as dreamweaver.

I have been using 1st page 2006 for about 2 months now. I would not trade this program for any other HTML editor. My trial period is now up but for some reason all of the fetures of this program were unlocked. I still get the nag screen but now I can not get to Evrsofts web page. I would like to know if they are still in business or if they went belly up.
