Download load managers slowing down?

Just wondering how much popularity and use is there for download managers, like GetRight, anymore.

As broadband becomes more wide-spread it would seem that the market for download managers would get smaller and smaller. I guess I just can't see the need anymore.

Anyone reading this that uses a download manager post a comment on what features the download managers offer that you like / use.

  • StarDownloader Pro I like the best because it's SIMPLE. Does what the big ones like GetRight does, but best of all, it has a silent download option that only shows you the progress bar is all and you don't need to "approve" the download whose link you just clicked.

  • I had used download manager a lot
'cus my dl's often stoped in the middle of an file. But I think that was in Win98 times. Now with W2k i had download managers too (FlashGet, Net Transport or FreeDownloadManager) but i need this never more. Last times I already cancel the DLM and click [Save] on the iE download box.

But iam online with ISDN on an "Internet by call" base, e.g from 6 p.m. till 11 p.m. for 0,3 € cent/m and the rest of the day for 2,99 € cent/m. (Germany)
So at 10:59 i will change the ISP.

So if i download something and the cheap time is over i want to hang up my internet conection. For this issue an DLM is fine to restart the download a few minutes later with an new, now cheap ISP ;-)

Or with an DLM i could scan the side an download several files at once.
